We are all grateful to you too Tony. If it wasnt for your passion we would never have had the chance to learn all that you teach us. We are blessed!!!!
Coach, thanks for sharing your path to being a teacher to all of us. I am getting ready to retire from teaching after retiring from combat arms in the Marine Corps. I found it interesting that I found similarities from being a Marine Corps infantry leader and becoming a public high school teacher. A good leader is a teacher (knowledge) and a trainer (skills) and a good teacher is a leader in knowledge development and skill development (how to do something. When you take it from the science of it to the art of it - it involves coaching, mentoring and inspiring. You have always transparently shared your path to becoming Coach and the Leader of the “Always Choose Safety” movement, and it is deeply appreciated by those of us on our own path to fulfilling our own path. I began my lifelong relationship with fear as a younger kid in low rent housing in NY and joined the USMC as an infantry officer and dabbled in martial arts and hand to hand, We studied the “human condition” physiological affects prepping for and experiencing combat and contingency operations for 20 years. I retired and as a public HS teacher I watched your YouTube videos (“who is this guy who’d sees things differently and links fear responses to physiology?”) and then I took the BYOB with my son in Brooklyn. Your teaching and coaching filled in the blanks for me and previously I have read almost every book, magazine, and videos prior to “connecting” with you and SPEAR. The simplicity and innate ability to harness your own “caveman DNA” has an incredibly impact on an individual and their life.
